Is one of the most recognized freediving schools in the world.
It was initially established in Radazul (Tenerife - Canary Islands) and since 2008 it has been promoting freediving activities through courses and training sessions. More than 2,000 students came through our school for training sessions or courses, and most of the world class freedivers have gone through ApneaCanarias as part of their annual training.
All this has been possible thanks not only for the excellent freediving conditions we have in Radazul Bay but also because of our facilities and professionalism. In addition to these, the excellent weather of the island all year round and its proximity to Europe makes Radazul one of the best freediving spots in the world.
Who we are
Miguel Lozano and Santiago Jakas are two freedivers and friends who decided to turn their passion into their profession and started the first freediving centre in Spain, in the beautiful island of Tenerife (Canary Islands).
Miguel Lozano, is a professional freediver specialized in depth disciplines. In the 2015 AIDA Depth World Championship (Cyprus) was proclaimed world runner-up in two of the three depth disciplines: constant weight without fins (CNF) and free immersion (FIM).
In 2016 he went down to -122 meters deep in FIM during the Caribbean Cup open competition in Roatán (Honduras), this achievement still today ranks as the second deepest person in the world in this discipline, only 2 meters away from the current world record (-124mts).
He has also been the first Spanish man to reach the depth of -100mts in "constant weight" discipline ( finning ) and -76mts without fins.
Santiago Jakas is one of the best freedivers in Spain with an extensive experience in competitions (Spanish static record holder in 2008/09/10) and has been teaching freediving since 2010. He is also AIDA judge since 2013 and has coached and organized most of Miguel Lozano’s records attempts.
